Chandigarh is one of the most stunning cities blessed with the beauty of nature and is architecturally really beautiful as well. Also, there are many amazing places to explore outside the city that are considered ideal destinations for weekend getaways with your friends and family. You can spend valuable time and go for a long drive to these places and make some imperishable memories during your journey.  

  1. Parwanoo

Parwanoo, located merely 30 km from Chandigarh is the best place for a refreshing holiday in the Himalayas. The serenity, calmness, and scenic views of this hill station lure many tourists every year to explore Mughal gardens, forts, and temples. Apart from this, one can indulge in many activities such as cycling, trekking, or enjoy a cable car ride at Timber trail. You can also bring home locally made Jellies, Jams, and Wines from there as a souvenir.

This small yet lovely hill town is situated 57.2 km from Chandigarh and has so much to offer to the tourists in abundance. The colonial-era architecture, adventure activities such as rock climbing, Horse riding, trekking, rappelling, and exotic views of the hills makes it the perfect place to walk around, admiring its natural beauty and have a relaxing time. You will also get to see roads surrounded by oak and pine forests which is a sight to behold. Also, you should visit Monkey point, to witness sunrise and sunset.

  1. Nahan

If you have had a tiring week and want to escape, then head to Nahan as it is a great weekend destination, located at a distance of 85 km from Chandigarh. This place is still unexplored by a lot of tourists and that is the reason it should be on your travel list because it is away from the chaos of the city and you will find peace of mind here. Explore Mall Road, Jaganath temple, and spend a beautiful evening at Renuka Lake.

From Chandigarh, Solan is located only 66.9 km away and is also known as “Mushroom City of India”. It is believed that Pandavas once lived on Karol Peak in Pandava Cave. So, to have information about the rich history of this offbeat town, you should visit with your family and trek to Pandava Cave. Mohan Shakti National Park is also a famous tourist attraction of Solan.

I have been to Parwaano with one of my friends and had the most amazing time. I enjoyed the cable car ride.
