Camping outside with your RV sounds quite fascinating. You must have been waiting for the time to take your RV and camp in a beautiful natural surrounding. While the idea of camping with an RV sounds exciting, you also need to think about the obstacles that might come in the way.

To make things easier for you, here is a list of the best hacks you should know before you take your RV out for a camping site. We have mentioned everything from the essentials to the camping accessories for RV you will need during your camping.

If you do not want to miss out on these hacks, then continue reading till the end of this guide.

    1. Make a checklist before departure

Always make a checklist of the things you want to carry or the things you need to do before leaving. There is nothing worse than reaching your campsite and finding out you have not carried your necessary stuff.

You can either make the checklist on your phone or write it yourself. Either way, make sure to print out a copy of it and put it somewhere accessible.

    1. Make sure to level and position your RV well

You need to ensure that the RV is well leveled and positioned. If it is not, then hooking things would become difficult, and the slides and awnings would not come out in a well-balanced way.

Also, if the RV is not positioned well, it causes a lot of strain to the accessories and appliances inside, which is clearly not good for your RV. Another vital step is that you should level your RV before filling the water tank. It will ensure that the water tank is completely full.

    1. Use command room holders for hanging wrenches and flashlights

You need something to hold your wrenches and flashlights. This is where command room holders come to the rescue. These are best for holding lights inside the RV or in the basement area.

    1. Use gorilla mounting taps to mount things

Gorilla taps are a much better option than plain command stripes as they stick to the RV walls much better. It will be useful to mount things like towel bars and other things.

    1. Carry an instant pot pressure cooker

Cooking in instant pot cookers is much simpler than using other cooking methods. You’ve to put the ingredients in it, and the pressure cooker will take it from there. It is faster, easier and you won’t have to compromise on taste as well.

    1. Keep a basic tool kit

You might need to do minor repairs while you are camping. Hence, carrying a basic tool kit will always save the day. The basic tool kit should include things like- cordless drill, screwdriver, wrenches, electric tester, screws, etc.

    1. Take a first-aid kit

Another essential thing to have ready is a first aid kit. You never know what emergencies may occur, so having a first-aid kit ready will definitely come in handy.

    1. Turn off the propane valve before traveling

If you don’t want to face a disaster during your camping days, make sure to close the propane valve before traveling. The rolling rigs tend to shake a lot when the RV is on the move. These shakes are so intense that they can loosen or make parts come out.

The same goes for propane connections. They can come off when the RV starts moving, and it might lead to a fire hazard. So remember to turn off the propane valve before traveling.

    1. Put off the campfire completely before retiring

Not putting off campfires before leaving is one of the recurrent causes of forest fires. Campfires heat the ground underneath hot enough to reignite things combustible in the firepit. Hours later, this can catch fire and spread across.

Therefore, make a little extra effort to put off the fire completely before retiring. To ensure if the fire is entirely out or not, you should be able to put your hand comfortably on the ground where the fireplace was. If you can put your hand comfortably there, you can be assured that the fire is completely out.

    Conclusion

The above mentioned are a few best hacks and tips you should know while camping with your RV. These hacks are important to ensure the safety of you and your RV, so make sure you follow them carefully.
